The quick garlic bread recipe uses regular loaf bread slices. You can also make it using a baguette. I make use of a tawa (griddle) instead of the oven as it gets well toasted on a tawa without taking much time. This will make a great pre-lunch or evening snack, or an accompaniment which your kids will enjoy.
Serves: 2 to 4 Persons
Prep. Time: 10 Mins.
Cooking Time:4 to 5 Mins.
Ingredients:
- Butter (softened) – 2 tbsp.
- Garlic (finely grated) – 6 to 8 cloves
- Black Pepper Powder – ¼ tsp.
- Chilli Flakes – ¼ tsp.
- Mixed Italian Herbs / Oregano – ¼ tsp.
- Bread Slices – 4 to 5
Step 1: Take the butter in a bowl and add pepper and the grated garlic and mix well.
Step 2: Cut the slices of bread into rectangular halves and apply the butter mixture lightly on both sides of each piece and keep aside.
Step 3: Heat a pan / tawa and place the bread pieces on the hot pan and cook covered on low heat for 40 seconds on each side. Open the lid, flip and toast for a minute on each side uncovered. Take off the heat and place on a plate and sprinkle the herbs on the slices.
